The ancient town of Ahmedabad is home to Manek Chowk, one of the best sites in Gujrat for street cuisine. Manek Chowk is a lively street that sells vegetables in the morning, jewellery in the afternoon, and street food in the evening. The nicest aspect about this market at night is that it transforms into a food market with vendors serving exquisite Gujarati street food, and you can eat here till one o'clock in the morning. Kulfi, bhaji pav, many kinds of dosas, and sandwiches like the pineapple and ghoogra sandwich are some of the foods that locals like here. Regular visitors to this establishment vouch for the Gwalior dosa and jamun shooters.
The top 5 things one must try at Manek Chowk are:
Ghoogra Sandwich
The Ghoogra Sandwich is one of the best street sandwiches I've ever had, despite its simplicity. This sandwich has a cheese, onion, and capsicum filling that is double layered. Butter is spread over a slice of bread, then a hot green chutney, onion, green pepper, and cheese filling, and then a second layer of the same. After that, the sandwich is toasted and served with plenty of butter, cheese, tomato ketchup, and the hot green chutney on top. Every mouthful of the Ghoogra Sandwich offers a distinctive flavour. The first mouthful has a salty butter flavour, followed by a cheesy flavour and then a spicy blast. It is not overly spicy but can be altered to suit your tastes. Whenever you have the chance to visit Manek Chowk, you must without a doubt taste this sandwich.

Gotala Dosa and Gwalior Dosa
At Balan Dosa, you can have Gwalior Dosa and Gotala Dosa. Gotala Dosa is a basic butter dosa that is topped with cheese and a blend of Indian spices. Capsicums should be added to the mixture first, followed by chopped tomatoes, freshly chopped coriander, paneer, lots of cheese, red chilli powder, butter, and water. A dosa that may serve two people is generously loaded with butter and cheese. The mixture is cooked thoroughly until the cheese melts, making it one of the cheesiest yet slightly spicy dish. Basically, the mixture delivers a tangy flavour, and the dosa provides the ideal balance and a tasty experience. The butteriest dosa we've ever had is the Gwalior Dosa, a simple dosa made with just one ingredient: butter. The dosa is so buttery that it drips butter when you hold it upside down, making your mouth water. This is a Manek Chowk must-try.

Jalebi Fafda ane Gathiya
Nagar Farsan. Jalebi, Fafda and Gathiya are served for breakfast every morning in Amdavad. Gathiya is a fried snack that is salty and spicy, while Jalebi is a dessert that is sweet, creating the ideal balance. Fafda and Gathiya are served with a fiery pickle called "Papita," a sweet curry called "Kadhi," and fried green chilies called "Marcha" . You get a blast of flavours from the combination of sweet, sour, spicy, and salty, giving it a unique flavour.

The delicious fried treat known as jalebi is typically eaten at the very end to give you a sweet taste. It is sprinkled with some finely chopped almonds, cashews, and pistas after being fried in ghee to give it a royal flavour. If you ever visit Ahemdabad, Nagar Farsan Corner has various outlets you should try it at least once.

Methi Na Gota
Methi, besan, and a variety of other spices are used to make the bhajiyas known as Methi na Gota. The mixture is deep-fried. Eat gotas when they're hot and crispy because as they cool off, they become too soft and lose their flavour. These are available at numerous street stalls at Manek Chowk. They come with some seasoned onions and a spicy chutney called "vaghareli chutney," which is a chutney with a tadka and some fried chillies. For those who enjoy spicy food, the Gotas are a delight, and the chutney, onions, and chillies are the perfect accompaniments.

Pineapple Ice-cream Cheese Sandwich
On the first slice of a pineapple cheese sandwich, butter is applied. Jam or sauce is then added for flavour. Then a portion of the icecream filling is added, such as pineapple chunks or even rabri. Delicious toppings are applied to the second layer slice, and butter is evenly distributed throughout. The second layer is fully loaded with. The third slice is then placed on top of the cheese, along with a final pat of butter and additional toppings. Amul cheese is then grated and sprinkled all over between layers two and three. Amdavadis simply love cheese and put it in everything. After that, it is divided into six pieces and put on a plate with extra cheese. The sandwich is stuffed to the gills with cheese, has a sweet-salty flavour, and in my opinion, makes plenty for two people.

Additionally, people also request the chocolate ice cream cheese sandwich, which swaps the pineapple for chocolate sauce and the rabdi with chocolate chips.

Manek Chowk is a place where you will get unlimited street food with endless variety, there are too many dishes to dry such as Pav Bhaji, Tava Pulao, Double Cheese Pizza, Jamun Shooters and many more, the list is endless. If you visit Manek Chowk once I am pretty sure you would want to go again because at Manek Chowk “Pet bharaijaiye pan mann naa bharaye”
